I’ve always loved beautiful things — the kind that make a space feel alive and full of heart.
When I moved to Israel from South Africa, I deeply missed that.
So, I started sourcing Wonki Ware — a brand with a 27- year legacy that trains artisans from disadvantaged backgrounds with the skills to go to work and uplift their communities. The earthy glazes, patterns, and feel of their ceramics transported me to the natural beauty and calm that I so needed during those early years in Jerusalem.
At first, it was just about bringing a bit of “home” to my kitchen. But as I started sharing the pieces with other Olim, I realized how much we all craved those little details that make a space feel like it’s ours.
I felt that I was bridging worlds, bringing the textures, colors, and stories of my old home to my new one. We’ve created a community of idealistic, big-hearted women also trying to create beauty and their little corner of peace in the Middle East.
Today, Em Ceramics includes new brands of ceramics, textiles, home decor, simcha gifting, a small biz besties program, and more. We’re at pop- ups and sales across the country, meeting followers and those new to our collections.
I’m always on the lookout for new friends who share the belief that the things we surround ourselves with shape how we feel.
